About Us
Why we plant
Amin Bazar sits at the western gate of Dhaka, where the city meets the Turag river. Decades of growth gave us markets and roads, and took the canopy that once cooled them. Our mission is simple: return shade, birdsong, and clean air to the streets we walk every day.
We plant native species like Krishnachura, mango, neem, because they belong to this soil and this story. Every sapling is adopted by a family or a shop that waters it through its first two summers.
We are not an NGO. We took local initiative: no office, no salaries, just Friday mornings, bamboo fences, and a shared ledger of trees. Everything we raise goes into saplings, soil, and guards.
What we hold onto
Native first
Species chosen for this soil, this rain, these birds.
Every tree has a keeper
A sapling is planted only when someone promises its water.
Open ledger
Every taka and every tree, recorded and public.
